Tracking Employee Productivity in a Humanized Way

This week on The DayBreak Blog, we’re sharing some news from the Staffing Industry.

No one likes to feel like they are being constantly watched. We already have suspicions about our cellular devices recording us and using the data to target us with advertisements, so when an employer is proposing to record audio or video of them, it’s no wonder that more than half of workers would rather leave their jobs than agree to being monitored in such an intrusive way.

There are two theories of thought. Theory X which concludes that workers are by default, unmotivated, and need to be constantly watched and monitored. Theory Y believes that people are naturally motivated and want to perform their jobs to the highest level, so that they can work in a more hands-off environment. Theory X is more likely to lead to a low-trust environment with high levels of stress and anxiety. Qualities that will hamper employees’ productivity and performance.

The good news is that there is a balanced approach where you can monitor employees with more of a human touch, with the goal being to get the highest productivity and quality of work out of your employees. Click the link below to read the whole article!
